Research shows that travel and tourism continues to be one of America's strongest growing industries, and accordingly one of the nation's largest employers. It is estimated that travel agents book 95% of all cruises, 90% of all tour packages, 50% of all car rental reservations, 85% of all international air travel and international hotel reservations.
What do you need to be a successful travel agent? Strong communication and selling skills, basic knowledge of the travel industry and good airline computer skills are the key qualifications travel employers demand today.
Career Quest has developed the Retail Travel Agent Program to provide you with the knowledge and technical skills you need to work in a full service retail travel agency. It consists of two sections:
-
Basic Travel Industry Instruction
-
Over 50 hours of Airline Computer Training
(Sabre, Apollo, WorldSpan, Amadeus or Galileo)
We combine
online study guides and Web sites with some of the most recognized travel
reference materials on the market today.
Throughout your training, experienced instructors are available via e-mail or the toll-free number. You will enjoy weekly instructional chat rooms where you can network with fellow students and graduates and meet some of today's preferred suppliers.
As a student of Career Quest, you will have the opportunity to enroll in training programs offered by the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) and specialist programs offered by tour operators and cruise lines.
Upon
successful completion of the program, the student will receive a
transcript of his or her grades and will be awarded a Certificate of
Completion.
