Why do you need a host agency? By definition, a host agency is a company that provides independent sellers of travel (home based agents) back office support, automation, strong supplier relationships, and quality control. Most good host agencies also provide marketing, continuing education and business development to help the independent agent grow their business.
The independent agent is not an employee of the host agency. They are business partners - so it is important that from the start, you have a good rapport with your host agency. There are alot of scams out there so you have to be very careful. Career Quest has a short list of host agency they highly recommend to our graduates - all provide the support a new agent needs to be successful.
We don't recommend talking with host agencies until you have reached the half-way mark of our programs - you want to have a good understanding of the home based business and know the right questions to ask. Here are just a couple of questions we suggest:
When talking with a host agency, be sure you ask how long they have been in business?
Are there any unresolved BBB complaints?
Are they Sellers of Travel in your state?
Do they offer marketing?
Do they pay their commissions on time?
Starting a home based agency is not difficult but it does take time and effort if you want your agency to be successful. Career Quest is the first step to your new career and even after you graduate, we are here to help you in any way.
